Just the Girls [Columbia, SC Family Photographer]

Recently I met up Downtown with these adorable girls and their charming mother.  We started off just chatting about girl stuff and the next thing you know we were laughing and carrying on.  That’s the kind of thing that I love to have happen, you know:)  And, it makes me grin inside when that carries over to the photographs.

I haven’t finished editing the photos from our session, but I wanted to post a quick sneak peak of the three girls together.  More to come soon.

With Love,

Sweet Little Boy [Columbia, SC Children's Photographer]

This little boy was such a joy to photograph!  He was so easy going (and I remember during the session I wondered if it was for real) because of his age.  He didn’t seem to mind anything that we tried.  I can’t wait to see him when he’s walking:)

Happy Easter [Lexington, SC Children's Photographer]

Today was such a wonderful day.  We had family over for the evening and we all went to our Annual Church Easter Egg Hunt.  My sister-in-law and I were enjoying every minute of dressing our little ones up for Easter.  And, in typical McWatty fashion…we were late for the celebration.  We were lucky that the Easter Egg Hunt coordinators were running behind, too:)  I decided to take my daughter out for some photographs of her in her Easter dress she’ll be wearing to church tomorrow.  I didn’t want to forget this Easter with her because the other day when I woke up and looked at her, it was as if she had become a big girl overnight.  And, my heart just sank.  Being a mother is the most wonderful and fulfilling gift and sad all in one.

My passion for photography needed a jump-start.  And, she was the perfect muse to put me back in check.  Ever loved so much it hurts?

Family Photography [Columbia, SC Photographer]

Is there a deserving family that you’d like to bless?  If so, please comment with your story and nominate that special family.

I’ve had the opportunity to read about what other photographers across the country are doing for families in need in their community.  Many of these families are going through some trials in there life and complimentary photographs seem to just bring a smile to peoples face.  One photographer Cristina Coco just announced the family she’d be photographing a couple weeks ago.  Reading her blog prompted me to do the same and reach out to someone deserving of something that they might not otherwise have been able to do.  And, that’s what life’s about isn’t it?  Sharing our God-given talent with others.  Seems as if it’s a win-win for everyone involved.

So nominate a special family and share a few things about why you’d like them to receive a day of photography.  We’ll include several prints for the family, as well.

There’s nothing more special than ’family’…and, I can’t wait to meet this one.  Winner will be announced on Valentine’s Day.  Check my blog for information or email me with questions.

[Columbia, SC Photographer] Christmas is a time to love

This year has been so tremendous in terms of meeting new families and friends.  I am so blessed to have met the people that have come into my life because of photography.  bragg-1850-bw

[Columbia, SC Family Photographer] Family of Three

One of my close friends referred this family to me for a photo session and I’m so glad they did.  As it turns out, they go to Church where my daughter goes to Christian School.  I didn’t find that out until the end of our session, but I feel that it was a God thing we ended up taking photographs that day.

Seeing the love of Christ with this family was so encouraging.  They’re beautiful AND sweet.  What more could you ask for?

[Columbia, SC Photographer] Recent Family Photography

These past couple of weeks could not have been better.  I had the most amazing time with my family over Thanksgiving and then my Gamecocks won against our state rival, Clemson.  I guess you could say that I’ve been in a celebration mode since then.  And, what’s to come.  Why it’s Christmas!  A couple of weeks on Cloud 9 and then back to normal.  Hopefully, I’ll stay there, lol:)

My clients over the past couple weeks have been amazing, no matter what state university they were from.

[Columbia, SC Children's Photographer] Round Three

I’ve had the pleasure of photographing this little monkey since he was a baby…and, now he’s walking and talking and everything else.  Well, he’s actually been walking since before he was 1, but that’s another subject.  All I have to say to lil C now when taking his photograph is, “Climb up on this…and climb up on that.”  He’s oh-so-the-best climber and he makes it look so easy.

Our session began with Mr. C wanting to hold onto a can of almonds that he wouldn’t relinquish.  Mom and I hid then and I snuck them in my bag, which kept him peanut free the remainder of the session.  Here are some of the precious photographs from our day!  Love you both:)

[Columbia, SC Family Photographer] Christmas in garnet

This family was so calm and willing to try whatever.  And, wait until you scroll down and look at Little C.  He’s one handsome little man.  I couldn’t take my eyes off of him.  We were going for mostly photographs for the family Christmas Card, but I couldn’t help but snap a few of the cute little one.  Here are a few from the day.

[Columbia, SC Family Photography] Carolina Charm

Several emails led us to meet this past weekend at the USC Horseshoe.  The setting was quite fitting for the former-Texas-family- NOW - USC-Gamecock-Athletic-family:)  We’re most happy that they made Columbia, South Carolina HOME.

Next comes…their CHILDREN.  From the moment I picked the lil’ lady up, she was laughing and laying on my shoulder {sigh}.  I must say,  I’m typically a ‘sucker’ for babies.  Yet, this time I was smitten with the almost two – year old…and probably,  because when I walked up to her and said hello she let me pick her up first try.  I’m a mother of a child who doesn’t do that, so I almost melted like butter.  After a little warming up and getting to know one another, I was able to hold the baby boy.  Then, I became smitten with both.  On to photographs:)
