Mother & Photographer Perspective
July 28, 2010 – 12:52 pm
How many times have we stood in front of our children asking them to pose & say ‘cheese’ and the like? I know it’s 1 too many times if you’re like me:) I decided to post this photograph up of my daughter so that you could experience with me the importance of capturing our children exactly how they are at different stages in their life. Believe me, when my daughter’s entering college, I’ll be more appreciative to relish in her ‘true’ personality from days past than ones that were forced by me or others. One of the reasons I love children’s photography so much is that when I was a little girl (until middle school & high school) I was a serious, serious kid. All I would do was give the photographers these stern expressions and they’d try and try to no avail. Fortunately, my mother was fond of capturing me just as I was and didn’t force it. That’s what I’d recommend to other mom’s out there b/c look at what you might have missed if you were forcing smiles. That look of my daughter above is one she does like she’s looking inside of your soul:) I’m so glad I caught this b/c it’s an expression I never want to forget…because smiles are a dime a dozen.

little boy edit from session
July 21, 2010 – 9:49 pm
This little guy and his mother were the most precious, ever! We had our session earlier this summer and we’re reviewing photographs right now for our order. The mom sent me a message asking if she could see a particular photograph in color (because I had only shown it in B&W).
Anyway…..When I first reviewed this image it showed up in my ‘head’ as a B&W photo. But, WOW! Is the reaction I now have of the image in color.
Thanks Mama B. You did good!

Easter Session with Sunshine [Columbia, SC Children's Photographer]
March 13, 2010 – 12:32 am
Is it just me that’s craving sunshine? Do I need to start a march against the rain on the Carolinas this season…? Perhaps that’s a little extreme, but I was so excited to see the sunshine for this session.
The weather was perfect for this brother duo. The oldest of them was a little shy at first, but warmed up pretty quickly after we started playing games together. He had the best manners and was such a handsome little man. Everytime we wanted the youngest to play with us, all we had to do was incorporate the oldest into the mix. All he had to do was smile at his little brother and everything as then “A OK”.
Family Beach Fun [Columbia, SC Family Photographer]
February 15, 2010 – 10:17 pm
The weekend started out so fun with this Family of Three. Dad had places in mind where he wanted to take pictures and we all were ‘game’ for a little scavenger hunt for the best place to photograph. We went down dirt roads, beach -front property and much more. Some of my favorites were along the streets off the beaten path….But, I have to say that any of the places would’ve been awesome! I can’t wait until our next family session because my mind has so many more ideas in mind for next time.
Little C is so fun to work with. He lights up in front of the camera and has such a sweet personality. Those blue eyes melt my heart every time:)

Little Miss S [Columbia, SC Newborn Photographer]
February 15, 2010 – 9:55 pm
This little lady was such a doll from the moment I arrived to take photographs. Her mother was so prepared and so accomodating that everything was so easy. Mom was so beautiful the whole time with baby. The love and joy was evident with each touch she gave.
And, when Little S decided to cry just a little, her mommy sang melodies that lulled the little lady to sleep.
