Mister C {Columbia, SC Children’s Photographer}

I’ve had the pleasure of working with this little one since he was about a year old.  And, ever since then he’s always had these special little ways that he lights up the camera.  Here’s just one of them.

Trendy Toddler {Columbia, SC Children’s Photographer}

Today reminded me exactly why I chose to photograph other children and families.  My daughter has had numerous photographers work with her and there’s only a few who truly know how to work with kids.  This little bundle of energy and delight reminded me exactly how I remember my own daughter at his age.  It brought back so many wonderful memories and I’m so thankful that I was able to be part of it all today with this family.

I decided to post one quick photograph from today that I really loved.  I have to tell you that this little man with his dark brown eyes and light blonde hair really melted me.  And, in this particular photograph you can see all of that and his adorable attire – perfect with coat & boots!

Christmas Holiday Photo Sessions [Columbia, SC Family Photographer]

Right about the time we start thinking about Halloween, all Moms start stressing about Christmas.  It’s not neccessarily all about the gifts and such, but merely everything we have to do to get prepared for Christmas:  Greeting Cards, Turkey & more food, Church Functions, Family Gatherings, Holiday Work Parties, and more…the list goes on and on…

Custom Christmas Photo Sessions for children and families begin in November.  Locations for sessions are at The Horseshoe and Riverfront Park.  Sessions begin at $150 for mini session including CD of all high-resolution images for photo cards & printing.  Additionally, we will have our 2010 Photo Cards ready to preview within the next week or so.

Here are last years Photo Cards.

Little Miss E [Columbia, SC Children's Photographer]

It seems like yesterday that I met the family of Miss E.  And, now she is two years old.

I remember telling the parents when I first met them how quickly time flies and before they knew it she’d be older.  Right about that time my daughter was about 3 years old and had turned three it seemed ‘like in a blink of an eye’.  So, I was feeling a little sad when I remember telling them that because I was thinking of my own child and what it would feel like within a year to the parents of Miss E.

One year later, and Little Missy was in the most adorable outfit standing there by her mother.  Her hair now goes up in a pony tail with ease.  And, this time she’s able to say ‘thank you’ when necessary in the most sweetest of voices imaginable.

Here’s a couple photographs of Miss E in her birthday attire.  I have to say that she loved wearing that tutu and the little shake in her step made everyone smile at the park.

xoxo, amy.

Happy Birthday W! [Columbia, SC Children's Photographer]

This little man is so good looking that he made me want to kiss his cheeks about every moment I took a look at him:)  And, I’m so hoping that he wants to play football for the University of South Carolina!

Here’s a sneak peek of Mr. W.

Happy Birthday Baby C

I had the pleasure of visiting my cousin for her baby’s one year old birthday party.  I was so thrilled to be part of it all and have my camera in tow so I could get some beautiful pics of this little cutie.

May God Bless You Little Man!

this is what you get

When you let your child be themself for a while during the photo session, you’re sure to get one of the most amazing smiles ever (like below)…not forced, not asked for; but the one that you get when you least expect it and it just feels so awesome when you get it:)

Mother & Photographer Perspective

How many times have we stood in front of our children asking them to pose & say ‘cheese’ and the like?  I know it’s 1 too many times if you’re like me:)  I decided to post this photograph up of my daughter so that you could experience with me the importance of capturing our children exactly how they are at different stages in their life.  Believe me, when my daughter’s entering college, I’ll be more appreciative to relish in her ‘true’ personality from days past than ones that were forced by me or others.   One of the reasons I love children’s photography so much is that when I was a little girl (until middle school & high school) I was a serious, serious kid.  All I would do was give the photographers these stern expressions and they’d try and try to no avail.  Fortunately, my mother was fond of capturing me just as I was and didn’t force it.  That’s what I’d recommend to other mom’s out there b/c look at what you might have missed if you were forcing smiles.  That look of my daughter above is one she does like she’s looking inside of your soul:)  I’m so glad I caught this b/c it’s an expression I never want to forget…because smiles are a dime a dozen.

best in the world

Carolina Girls, that is!  And, this photograph reminds me of the best of times with us Carolina Girls.  Soon she’ll be learning to do the shag, but for now, she looks like she has it all under control with her cute expression and little curtsey:)

little boy edit from session

This little guy and his mother were the most precious, ever!  We had our session earlier this summer and we’re reviewing photographs right now for our order.  The mom sent me a message asking if she could see a particular photograph in color (because I had only shown it in B&W).

Anyway…..When I first reviewed this image it showed up in my ‘head’ as a B&W photo.  But, WOW! Is the reaction I now have of the image in color.

Thanks Mama B.  You did good!
