Holiday Mini Sessions

Photo Look [Columbia, SC Family Photographer]

I am so wanting to update my photo borders with my blog posts, but each one I look at are so contemporary and I can’t find one that fits my style.  So, I added the typical classic one to my last post, but, it still doesn’t work.   Now you know what’s going on just in case next time you stop in on my blog and the photos are all crazy and such:)

Little M [Columbia, SC Children's Photographer]

I begin this post thinking of how incredibly HOT it is in Columbia, SC right now.  If you live in these parts, you know we have practically no breeze, like our coastal sisters…yet equal to or greater than heat indexes:)  Now’s the time for you to mention that there’s no excuse for me to be 20 lbs overweight.  Especially since I live in such a sweat-induced climate.  Maybe I need to start exercising in it to see if that helps:)

Amidst the heat, I had the pleasure of working with Little M and his Mommy.  Our first session started around 9 am one morning and the heat started on us really, really fast.  Little M got sleepy and we all kept trying, but I knew that he just wanted to crash (bless his little heart).  We ended up rescheduling for the next day and then the monsoons started for a weekend like Columbia, nor I, have seen in quite some time.  When I say it rained, I mean it rained and poured from morning til night.  And, before you ask..YES, the children of Columbia town were going stir crazy.

One week later and magic!  Great weather.  Happy Little M.  And, Little M session complete.  Can’t wait for his Mommy to see them all.  Here’s a few to look over.

Carolina Family [Columbia, SC Family Photographer]

I met this family about a year ago when they came to South Carolina to work for our USC Gamecock Football Team.  I  remember meeting the mother and children for the first time , and before even a word came out of their mouth, I knew they were from the South.  It’s just something I’d describe as ‘warmth’ that was there from the start.  How cool when you meet someone that’s geniune even before they start talking:)  That’s how I feel about this family.   There aren’t many like them:)   And, I don’t want them to go anywhere else…ever, ever, ever….

Did I mention how beautiful their babies are?…

Here are some images from their most recent session Downtown.

This little boy is so special because his mommy is like a sister to me…and I love them both so much.  That’s all I can say without crying…:)

Family Photo Session [Irmo, SC Family Photographer]

I have to say that this was one of my favorite photo sessions I’ve had with a family in a while.  From the beginning of our session, they were up for anything and it made everything flow just perfectly.  We started out Downtown Lexington for what I thought might be perfect for some urban shots of the little girl in her Twinkle Toes sneakers.  She was just getting warmed up to me and on second thought we should have started out at the park.  But, no worries, because once we arrived at the park and she saw the ducks and water, everything was all good.  We were able to take some great photos of each child, the kids together, all the family, and some really gorgeous mommy and daddy pics.

Such a handsome little one [irmo, sc children's photographer]

Little J is about as cute as they come.  He is always so much fun everytime we meet and I can say that he is all boy:)  It’s so much fun watching them at this age taking everything in…they’re so in tune with everything in nature, and nothing gets passed them.

All I have to say to this precious mom is that I hope his lil’ Pedipeds held up after falling in the water:)  Thank you for letting me work with your family once again.  Enjoy!

Another Easter Session [Irmo, SC Children's Photographer]

This photography session was enormous fun, filled with so much laughter.  Little E wanted to play in the water from the beginning of the session as I was walking up.  I was game, but, with bunny rabbits in hand, and mommy wanting to get some portraits made before he ruined his clothing…we decided to take a little drive to another portion of the park.  You know the saying, “Out of sight, out of mind”.  It seemed to work.  And, that’s a certain saying that I practice quite often and most of the time lip gloss is the culprit here at my house.  That definitely wasn’t the case here, but we had a similar understanding.

We progressed to one of the Woodland areas and what did we see as we walked up?  Water, of course.  Only the kind in river-like-form and not fountain-esque-form.  Little E tried to take a swim and was rescued by mommy and daddy.  We proceeded to hide Easter Eggs, play with the little bunny rabbit and explore the woods.  That made him oh, so happy.  We were able to capture some of the sweetest images of him.  Happy Easter to all!
