Holiday Mini Sessions

Just the Girls [Columbia, SC Family Photographer]

Recently I met up Downtown with these adorable girls and their charming mother.  We started off just chatting about girl stuff and the next thing you know we were laughing and carrying on.  That’s the kind of thing that I love to have happen, you know:)  And, it makes me grin inside when that carries over to the photographs.

I haven’t finished editing the photos from our session, but I wanted to post a quick sneak peak of the three girls together.  More to come soon.

With Love,

A

Carolina Family [Columbia, SC Family Photographer]

I met this family about a year ago when they came to South Carolina to work for our USC Gamecock Football Team.  I  remember meeting the mother and children for the first time , and before even a word came out of their mouth, I knew they were from the South.  It’s just something I’d describe as ‘warmth’ that was there from the start.  How cool when you meet someone that’s geniune even before they start talking:)  That’s how I feel about this family.   There aren’t many like them:)   And, I don’t want them to go anywhere else…ever, ever, ever….

Did I mention how beautiful their babies are?…

Here are some images from their most recent session Downtown.

A Sunday Before Church [Columbia, SC Family Photographer]

It seems like ages since the mom from this session and I spoke about taking family portraits.  You know how things go with kids, right?  And, you know how things go when a photographer has then, too, right?  Such was the case with this session.  I think the minute this family would get well, ours would get sick…And, so on, and, so on.  That just set my expectations super de duper high for the day we were to meet up for a fun family session.  And, I sure wasn’t let down at all.  These little girls are the cutest and spunkiest ones around.  Normally it takes a little time to warm up for our session, but these ladies had such a welcoming personality that before I knew it, I was their little girlfriend with a camera.  Here are some of my favorites from that Sunday morning.

Beautiful Family at the Horseshoe [Columbia, SC Family Photographer]

I met this mother through my full-time job as she’s one of my clients.  From the moment I met her, there was just something different about her.  The way she carried herself.  The way she spoke and treated people.  And, the genuine way her little eyes sparkled the minute she was asked about her Mister R.  I can certainly see why.  Sometimes mothers take for granted how truly special they are and I can bet that this mother is quite the same.  What I do know for a fact is that the mother loves her son beyond what this life imagines and her husband just pulled it all together.  The three of them have a lifelong journey ahead of them filled with so much passion, hope and love.  Nothing with these three had to be forced at all.  They just seemed to forget I was there and play mom, dad and child.  I was fortunate to be asked to take it all in.

In another upcoming blog post, I’ll be writing an article about this mother and what special book she’s written for other mom’s out there called Mommy’s Kisses.  It’s certainly from her heart as it was written for her son.

Family Photo Session [Irmo, SC Family Photographer]

I have to say that this was one of my favorite photo sessions I’ve had with a family in a while.  From the beginning of our session, they were up for anything and it made everything flow just perfectly.  We started out Downtown Lexington for what I thought might be perfect for some urban shots of the little girl in her Twinkle Toes sneakers.  She was just getting warmed up to me and on second thought we should have started out at the park.  But, no worries, because once we arrived at the park and she saw the ducks and water, everything was all good.  We were able to take some great photos of each child, the kids together, all the family, and some really gorgeous mommy and daddy pics.
